Our Curriculum
At St Paul’s Walden School, we follow the National Curriculum with subjects being taught both discretely as well as by exploring cross curricular links. Within these links we carefully incorporate subject specific skills as well as key skills which are applied across the whole curriculum. This gives us a holistic approach to learning, sometimes led by the children’s interests, whilst at the same time ensuring development of individual subject skills and knowledge.
The curriculum is tailored to recognise children’s prior learning and provide first hand learning experiences, allowing the children to develop interpersonal skills, build resilience and become creative, critical thinkers.
We use a wide variety of teaching methods designed to give a chance to learn in a wide variety of ways. Every child is recognised as an individual. We celebrate successes and differences within our school and community.
We believe that all our children should be happy, safe, questioning and investigative. The children leave St Paul’s Walden School with a sense of belonging to a supportive community. They move to the next stage of their education with the confidence and skills to make decisions, self-evaluate and become lifelong learners.
Each class teacher uploads their curriculum plans each half term.
