Attendance and School Hours
Good attendance in school is vital for every child's development and progress both socially and academically.
We aim for every child to achieve 96% attendance each year.
We will support Parents with attendance if required and promote regular attendance with our children.
Our school doors open at 8:45 am and learning starts at this time. Registration for the morning session is at 8:50am and for the afternoon session at 12:50pm. The day ends at 3:15pm. The total time this amounts to in a typical week is 32.5 hours (6.5 hours a day) and it is important that children are at school for this time.
Please ensure your child is on time for school, as lateness disrupts their start to the school day and also disrupts the work of the school office. Please also arrange medical appointments out of school hours as we do not want any child is miss valuable learning time.
Your child may be invited to Booster sessions or clubs outside of these hours.

Absence
All absences must be reported to the School Office before 9:00 am via telephone 01438 871241 or email admin@stpaulswalden.herts.sch.uk please ensure that you state which class your child is in and the reason for their absence.
